... because I had this dream last night where I went to Barcelona (although it was alternatively called Florence and Cecile *eyeroll*) with fellow costumers and we got lost in the subway, stumbled upon costume exhibitions and among the costumes there were those giant weird moving colored soap bubbles, and once you got one, you could see the future in it, and the future said something like "Bloodbath tomorrow, everyone's gonna die and be in multiple pieces". And it was going to start in Spain and then take over the world.
Does the fact that I found this dream funny or that I was more disturbed by the non-quality of the costume exhibits than by the bloodbath part make me a bad person ?

In more directly sewing-related news, the world still has something against my maternity corset. I tried to take a picture today, the picture turned out awful, and before I had time for another one the battery died. Boo ! And this digicam's charger is lost somewhere in the chaos that's our computer room as well... AND my gallery system on my site is broken. So in text only : the two halves of the corset are assembled and basted in place, the next step is going to stitch the boning channels in pale pink. It's going to look lovely over the green satin. I have cut all the metal bones (blergh, cutting spiral steel... blergh !), dipped them in something I hope will act as a viable protection for the pointy ends, and decided I'd use plastic boning for the back, as it doesn't get distorted sideways and I have lacings there.
I have also knitted one or two rows on the sweater - each row is taking fooooreeeever now that I have the sleeves and body assembled and That. Is. Boring. So I rapidly switched over to the embroidered tablecloth. I finished all four corner motives and am starting to add stuff to the center again.

The stomacher embroidery is done ! Just what I was aiming at, tonight. Now I just have to finish the cuffs, assemble the stomacher, and recover the shoeS. Ideally this would all get done by tomorrow night, so that I'd only have the hem left - which I'll do with [livejournal.com profile] heileen's help. Than Wednesday is cleaning day, and on Thursday I get to see the ophtalmologist in the morning, have my parents over for lunch and said lovely fellow costumer arrives in the afternoon.
That'd be, as I said, ideal. Somehow I'm not sure I can manage the shoes by then, especially as I still don't have the glue for it. But at the same time, my fett tend to be in a sad swollen state so I'm not sure I'd fit into the shoes if I did finish them. Worse comes worse, I'll wear my brown ones, add a bow to them and just pretend they look okay. I *think* I'll still fit into those ones. Keeps your fingers crossed with me !
And it has nothing to do with sewing, but we just cooked one of the yummiest fish dishes I've ever eaten. And eaten it while watching the end of the second season of the Sarah Connor Chronicles, which is seriously awesome. Now please pray with me that there IS a third season, because I want to know what happens next !

The 1873 sparkly scarf is done, except for weaving in the loose ends. I'm not sure about blocking this type of yarn. One thing is almost sure : I'm taking the scarf with me tomorrow - we're going to the mountains to see some relatives on the HG's side. the HG will go skiing and I... I need a portable project. I still have handkerchief embroidery plans. I could also start a pair of fingerless mitts in sparkly yarn (but another color) and the same pattern as the scarf. Or... what else could I do ? I'm at a loss here ! The fingerless mitts are appealing, as all I'd need to do would be some math - gauge being given by the scarf. But then, I'm missing the needlework. There's been no sewing here for two weeks, that's a lot !
Also : where the hell is my digicam ? I need to take pictorial evidence of my scarf !

So I've decided to practice embroidery making embroidered handkerchiefs for the HG, like this :

Then the HG came up with a design he wanted. Now he has a handkerchief embellished like this :

Bonus points for those who recognize it !

Another handkerchief is done, but it's in the wash right now, getting rid of the design sketching marks.

Also ? Kitty got a chemise and a bustle !

I told you it was standing on it's own !

You also get a glimpse of the finished corset and trimmed chemise.

It recently took me two evening to make a 30cm seam. By machine. Without mecanical problems. Yeah, I feel kind of lazy those days. BUT ! I'm starting on things that were actually on my to-do list for this year !

I made the first monogramm on the handkerchiefs for the HG ! (Please note, this is only my first try at embroidery, hence some errr... wonkiness - anyway, I'm quite proud of it !)

I also ironed the fabric for my cross-stitch tablecloth and napkins, and promptly made a *huge* water mark on the fabric. Luckicly I was able to cut out the tablecloth itself on the other side of the piece of fabric, so it doesn't matter that much if it doesn't go away, I'll just cut the napkins around it.
