I have to admit I sometimes take two pictures a day to make up for a missed one. And my son's pretty practical as a model - though he's sometimes a wobbly one.

My row counter on my current sweater**. I did not originally want a pink one but it was the only one with the features I wanted.

WiP on my desk. Has been in progress for months but it slowly nearing completion. Maybe I'll even keep it afterwards !
The rest goes under here )

**Which leads me to a question : why do people knit so many scarves and little felted bags ? I searched Ravelry for ideas of what to knit with Rayure Double and got overwhelmed with !scarves! and !more scarves! projects. I don't want to knit a scarf out of this. I love the yarn for a sweater, but it's too scratchy for my neck. And besides, I have a dozen scarves already - actually, they'd be called shawls by most people, but the thing is : I have enough of them ! I want to knit things that I will actually wear - because I have to at least somehow justify my yarn splurdges, even though knitting a sweater often costs me twice as much, not including time, as buying one. Crazy world that we're living in. The point is : I want knitting patterns for feminine and pretty sweaters and cardigans. And I want something not too plain that will still display the variegated yarn without looking stupid.
BTW, I still need to frog Pinky and to take pictures of its littel brother, Amulette. It'ss the same sweater, just smaller - and since it's the same colors as my cat, it has the same name.

We spent the weekend near Paris for a friends couple's (and their kid's) birthday. Basically, I discussed some things with the HG in the train, and for the rest I slept, ate, did nothing but knit and cuddle the toddler - a very cuddle-worthy kid. So NO sewing progress, no invitation progress, but much rest and relaxation and OMG ! I've finished Pinky !
I have to weave in the loose ends and block it. And then I4ll wear it and marvel in it's pink warmth. Which I seriously could use at work, because it's getting COLD here. Not cold enough to get us the promised snow, though. *pouts*
I have a new project almost on my needles now - almost as in I have the gauge swatch on my needles. I'm making a yellow Totoro bonnet for some other friends' kid. The kid was born on Wednesday and there's a kind of private joke about dressing him in yellow. And I just happened to have yellow yarn. *grin*

As for tonight, I'm debating whether to go try on the bodiced petticoat and fiddle with the cording acting up or just measure the gauge for the bonnet, check some stitches I'm not sure about anymore, and then go to sleep.

Yeah, I've been a lazy bum about documenting my progress lately. Or maybe lack of progress, given how little I got accomplished everyday. Winter is for hibernation, I tell ya. And by winter, I mean the time of the year when it's dark, cold, wet and potentially snowing, like right now :

The Home Geek pretends it's spring, but I don't believe him. Besides, everyone knows this city we live in only knows two seasons : winter and summer. And inbetween them you have periods where it's summer one day, and winter the other. Spring and autumn ? They're just concepts.

(Truth is, I've been stressed as hell and running around from one bank to the next one, and the heavy cleaning and tidying up the mess did not happen all by itself)

Thanks to the power outage at work and the day off tomorrow, I do have some things to show you !

I'm completely exhausted today, for no other particular reason than a long day, getting over this weekend sickness AND general madness/lots-of-people-around/long-driving. Maybe I'll be courageous and knit the end of my first skein on the Pinky sweater, but don't expect more tonight... I just napped for an hour and a half while the dinner was in the oven. No dress progress tonight...

At least we have appointments to visit two houses on Saturday. Hoping to get in touch with a third seller by then.

The weekend was fabuous, despite being sick from Friday night until Saturday evening. At least the bug gave me an excuse to not look horribly clumsy while holding a toddler.

As predicted, not much sewing happened. I'm going to work on that right after I finish this post. As also predicted, I did knit. I swatched the pink Rayure Double (which is every bit as fantabulous as [livejournal.com profile] heileen says) and cast on my first - gasp - sweater ! And I teached [livejournal.com profile] lady_darkstone and the HOME GEEK to knit. They both wanted to check whether and how you could knit a Moebius ring. The HG ditched and unraveled the thing after two rows, but [livejournal.com profile] lady_darkstone wants to turn her not-exactly-Moebius ring into a scarf for her mom. That is, if she's not too busy with the shiny new antique Singer she got this weekend...

I also finished the Chaos socks and will take pictures as soon as they're dry.

Next step : convert [livejournal.com profile] lady_darkstone to socks and historical knitting. *evil grin*
