I know, I should've updated... Rough days, I'm not really gonna go into that.
I have finished quilting the second petticoat panel ! No pictures yet, hopefully tomorrow. I won't assemble them right away. I want to prepare the pieces for the caraco and waistcoat first. Assembling is something I can do by hand while laying in bed, if I get sick again/have to get a lot more rest than now/whatever my body thinks is funny...
I also cut out the justeaucorps sleeves for my brother's outfit and have basted half the interlining to the fabric pieces. Just a little more handsewing to do, then basting it all together.... and waiting till we can arrange a fitting.
My plan for tomorrow's make-do sewing day - it got partially cancelled in the end - is to take the pattern of from my pierrot and start preparing the quilted caraco pieces. Work on the justeaucorps sleeves if I get to tired. And bake some cake.

Simplicity - trimmed, signed and numbered
I managed to put up some pictures of my latest prints, though. I'm starting to enjoy working with linoleum - I have given SpeedyCut a try but in the end I think I'll stick with lino, I strangely feel more at ease with it although it's clearly a lot harder to carve... I'm weird I guess, but the shipping rates for SpeedyCut really play in favor of lino as well. Anyway, those are linocut, and have been put up for grabs. I have quite a lot other projects on the back-burner, but right now I mostly need some rest. Stupid stomach bug hit me again :(

I'm not even a native english speaker, but seeing this on the Etsy first page made me cringe...

Empire is high waste !

I know, I've been bad, I've procrastinated ordering the missing grosgrain ribbon for soooo long... And now I know I'll need a busk as well, since I'd like to make a new corset for the early bustle gown. I have several busks here, but they're all a little short (26 centimeters ? what was I THINKING when I bought those ? o_O ), except one spoon busk. And spoon busk just ain't right for early bustle. So I need to order a new busk. Except I can't make the corset mock-up so I'm a little unsure as to which length to order. More procrastinating ensues. And my mind just goes round and round and round... Ha !
One thing is sure, I'll stock up on grosgrain ribbon, I've used this stuff far too often in the past five years. Then decide on busk length. Then woe is me ! Anysse doesn't carry the boning caps I'd want. I could order them from Wagner but it seems so silly to order just that... when I could be using electrical tape which I already have at hand...
Ok, enough rambling, order sent. I'll do without the caps once more.

And just so this isn't a rambling only post about ordering boring supplies, some pictures of a prototype rag doll. I have others, a little more intricated planned for the Etsy store.

Now wondering what I should work on next... sewing doll stuff, drawing stuff, website stuff...

Hey, I can't sleep yet again ! And I can't even blame the heat, it's been pouring most of the night. But Cthulhu only knows why, I went to bed at eleven, got out again at half past 2 and hadn't closed an eye. I actually didn't even feel tired. I'm brely starting to feel like yes, maybe sleeping could be an option... *rolls eyes*
At least I saved loads of pictures from the CoPA - only after I figured out the pattern diagrams were mostly missing for the years I'm most interested in right now. I have saved far too much huge sleeved 1890s and cute 1920s stuff up to now.
I have also worked on my drawing a little. It feels really really good, I hadn't realised I hadn't touched a pencil for so long - but the break was good, now I'm full of thematic and technical inspiration and bursting with ideas. I think I should be able to add new stuff to the Etsy shop rpetty soon and that feels really good ! Of course I still have some older stuff to scan and edit, but I just don't feel like it tonight - err this morning.
