I keep forgetting I need a PETTICOAT over my Big Big Bustle. No petticoat I have will fit over THAT.
I can't remember whether or not I have enough white linen for it. Because if I have, it's in the kid's room. And the kid's finally asleep, after refusing to sleep this morning and sleeping just one hour this afternoon.
I could sacrifice part or all of my stiff-ey cotton-poly-mix, but I(m not sure how it would behave under another mostly cotton fabric.
I guess there's no way I can avoid the bodice, then...

That's the other name for this weird disease that starts during pregnancy and lasts, so I heard, for years to come, and makes you all empty-headed and prone to forget this and that and... well, almost everything. It's probably partly related to sleep deprivation, though not entirely, as I had a good night's sleep.
Anyway, I went into town with little H, took the bus with the stroller, big achievement ! (My stroller is huge ! It was perfect when H was a newborn, but now that we want to be a little more mobile it's... well, mostly huge) I looked for a certain pair of shoes which I couldn't find (boo ! not in any color or size), and a birthday gift for my Mom. Which I bought. And then forgot to take with me. *facepalm* Thank Goddess I bought it at home, so the girls are keeping it backstage for me. I feel so stoopid... I chose the necklace, chatted, paid, fixed their computer.. and went out. And of course I only noticed it when I was in the bus back home and I had no time to go back and be home in time for little H's meal.

On the good side of the Force, I now have a styrofoam head to pattern hats onto (but sadly still no fake hair for Vaux !) and the wonderful [livejournal.com profile] hohenstein's hanbok pattern arrived ! Yayayay ! Thanks so much ! I'm goig to grab a bite and get started on that, while the kid sleeps.

I could bang my head against a wall sometimes. Except well... it might hurt. I went looking for [livejournal.com profile] koshka_the_cat's basic rococo petticoat how-to, did all sorts of searches with her usernam and variations of the theme... Nada.
I left Koshka out, just googled some 18th century petticoat how-to. Guess what page came on top ? Yup, that's right, Katherine's.
Of course, it might have helped if I had actually remembered she'd posted it on her website and not on her LJ. Katherine, you're too good about updating your website ! :D

I have a week, and I fully intend to have my casaque and two petticoats done by the end of it. [livejournal.com profile] heileen, do you know around what dates will you be in the area for our little outing ?

I made a huge (one meter of fabric wasted) cutting mistake in the organdi. One meter wasted means I don't have enough left in that color to cut the rest of the skirt interlining in beige. No problem, I hae some in other colors. Except I just noticed that they're all lighter weight. So I need to recut the first piece, too. *sigh* All of this while I'm trying to motivate myself to sew and not run off to the art suppply store.
