For Corsetra
Jan. 6th, 2011 12:36 pmJust saw this morning a short paragraph in a La Mode Illustrée, 28th of August 1887, advertising a "new invention" for ladies who get hurt by metal bones, for corsets, made of reed or whalebone, shaped like an open grid, or a "reed mesh as used for chairs". They are, the artciel says, "extremely light, extremely flexible, so that the waist is entirely free to move" (I'm sure I can do better in terms of translation, the original French text is kinda weird to start with and I only got 4 hours of sleep)
Sadly, no pictures, so I don't know whether or not it'd look like a skeleton corset or be slightly different.
