Lord of the rings
J.R.R. Tolkien: Lord of the Rings. You are
entertaining and imaginative, creating whole
new worlds around yourself. Well loved, you
have a whole league of imitators, none of which
is quite as profound as you are. Stories and
songs give a spark of joy in the middle of your
eternal battle with the forces of evil.

Corset News

So I finally got to order the spiral boning and steel boning I needed. I still need to get the answer form my sewing buddy about which busk length she needs, and I'll order the buscs too. Which means that before the end of the month I'll get started on the corsets (10 needing to be made, which means probably 5 for me, and the rest for my two sewing buddies).

My sister tried on my Doré corset, and it just fitted perfectly ! Yay ! I thought it would be alright, but just needed to be sure. We don't look alike at all but apparently have the same bust. Maybe she'll sew her own corset, with a little help. I hope I can motivate her enough for that. I'm considering the Silverado for her, since she's got very small breasts...

As for me, I'm wearing the above mentionned corset right now, trying to see what's wrong with it. I had it on on Christmas Eve and it was such a nightmare I had to put it off. But today it seems just perfect, I'm actually in a shape where I oculd lace it a little bit tighter ! o_O I guess the problem on Christmas Eve came mainly from the chairs and the long sitting.

AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRHHHHHHH !!!!

There are times when I really hate my sewing machine. I'd gladly kill it under the most refined tortures, if I needn't it that much. (one day, I'll have a brand new machine that won't weight half a ton and that I can bring along with me on vacation...)
So the problem is, my machine obviously has something agianst my woollen skirt. She just won't sew it. First the thread breaks. Then the thread breaks again. Then the thread breaks again AND again. Nothing to do with tension problems or so, everything is allright when I give it a try on a scrap of fabric. When it comes to the skirt... the thread just breaks. That was this afternoon.
Tonight I gave it another try... guess what ? The thread broke again ! Then it started... well I don't know, maybe my sewing machine whishes she were a knitting machine or something. Dunno what happened to the thread, but it involved many knots and moans from the machine and finnaly... Yeah, you got it : the thread broke.
It took me an HOUR to sew this damn waistband to the skirt. And ended just as I bent the needle.
