Loot ! and progress

Behold ! Actual sewing content included !

But first, let's see what we got at the flee market this morning...

From left to right :
- a broken mirror frame I found on the sidewalk (!) - it needs to be repaired, and the mirror itself was broken, but hey, it was free and I'm pretty sure I can make something cute out of it ! - ;
- I haven't checked precisely, but there are at least 6 meters of the lace. It's gorgeous, it's not stained or anything. I'm debating on whether or not to use it on my wedding dress. The alternative would be to keep it for a very frilly victorian something.
- the Big Evil Rocking Horse of Doom - so the cat seems to think, the way she fled before it.
- a small attic door from Mali for my mom's birthday. But don't tell her ! It's a surprise !
- an elegant porcellan tray for cookies or tea sandwiches.
Really, we were very reasonable and didn't splurge on anything.

And then on to the progress report, and we have big news !!! All the binding is done on the 1920s bra ! Proof :

Since I'm too lazy to pull off my clothes to try the bra on and mark the slit, I'll work on the Goth Kitty's corset for tonight. Here's a shot of what it looks like presently :

Again, my digicam is being particularly crappy tonight.
The corset has three layers (red satin lining, white coutil, purple taffetas, three bones (one in place of the busk, and one on each side of the back opening, I figured the seams on the sides gave enough support). It will have some black lace applique on top of it, and probably handsewn eyelets, unless by some miracle I find more mini-grommets. It also has a clearly more defined shape than the last kitty's corset.

How about a very frilly victorian wedding dress?
Pretty things!

Nope, the design is already set and it will not be... well not THAT frilly. Brown and turquoise aren't frilly, they're chic ;) But I'm still debating about a little bit of lace at the sleeves and neckline...

That's some great loot you picked up! The lace looks lovely.

I'm impressed with you for making such detailed, tiny costumes for your goth kitty. Very cute!

I was very good and din't take TOO MUCH loot home. I would have been much less good without the HG by my side, I guess ^^

The Goth Kitty is actually an order, but I'm having such fun making it that I lost count of my work hours on the projects... oopsie ?
