The pattern... it is NOT working. The wrinkles on the side are still there, and given my shape and the pattern's shape, getting them out would mean a huge lot of afterations, like making it unrecognizable.
It would be so much easier if I had someone at hand to help me fit it... only I have to wait until the end of the month before lady_darkstone moves in in the neighborhood.
I'm granting myself a tea-break, then I'll go hunting for Demeter's pattern and hope I have a fitted version of it somewhere apart from the dress itself. Huh.

BTW, the second mock-up of the sleeves turned out awful.

ETA : of course, I did NOT keep a pattern from Demeter's bodice. Missa dumb.

Let's face it, fitting is always difficult, particularly on yourself!
Why don't you put everything on your stand shaped to your measurements and try to fit it on it? I avoid many problems in the fittings by doing so. I discovered a tailor rule to find the depth of the armhole for example, it is very efficient and it is always in the right place.
The link between the armhole and the waist is always important for a good fit but I'm sure you know that. Well, I tried to be helpful but really, save time, it's so frustrating when everything goes wrong... So keep up!!!We're on your side ;)

La règle du tailleur est de prendre la taille d'une personne (par ex. 1m70) divisé par 8.
Puis le tour de poitrine (par exemple 86cm) divisé par 8.
Puis on soustrait 10 du résultat et cela donne la profondeur de l'emmanchure au niveau du sous-bras.
C'est important pour une manche parce que si c'est trop bas ou trop haut au niveau du sous-bras, il va y avoir des problèmes d'emmanchure.
Donc 170/8=21,25
86/8= 10,75
= 32-10=22 cm .
En pratique, le long de la couture dos, il faut mesurer 22cm depuis le cou. Tracer un trait .A partir de ce trait, une ligne parallèle donne l'endroit où la courbe de l'emmanchure s'arrête au niveau du sous-bras. J'espère que c'est clair, c'est plus facile à montrer sur un patron.
Le niveau de l'emmanchure est donc à la bonne hauteur.
Pour la manche il faut veiller à ce que le plus haut point de celle-ci tombe droit depuis l'épaule, un truc de couturière consiste à suspendre une paire de ciseaux au bout d'une corde et placer la corde sur le petit os qui termine l'épaule, les ciseaux déterminent le point où la manche tombe le mieux (peut-être un peu en arrière ou en avant si on est voûté ou trop droit, etc...)Quand le point est déterminé, c'est l'endroit où le sens du fil doit tomber.
J'espère que tout cela t'aidera 1 peu à résoudre ton problème de manche.
