Fake fur ! Green fake fur !
The muff is 100% done ! The pattern is AP1574 (1868 Pocket Muff), I know it's too early to really match Demeter, but I love it, and since I'm already using green fake fur... :) I just fell in love with this one, and am not one to put historical accuracy before having fun. So green fake fur it is, with quilted polyester satin for the inside pocket, and cream coloured cord.

The knot (a monkeyfist with only two rows) was made by my dear HG.

Aaaaand it's not only a muff, it's a handbag, too !

And I have some sort of progress to report on the bodice, too

Starting to look like something, right ?
ETA : I think I need to reshape the zigzag part... it goes too far on the left compared to the original bodice...

I wanted to start one, too, for the Dickens dress I'm working on, but I couldn't find enough bunnies. Maybe next time.
But the handbag/muff idea...glad I didn't start it yet--that's a good idea!

So gorgeous!
Fake fur really is period! And in green;) I posted a link to a bottle green velvet russian Imperial court dress that had a banding of very deep piled plush around the hem a few days ago. That is in essence a fake fur and can be seen even in the verylate 16thC.
